HVAC Fiber Glass Duct Systems Trainers

Stevie Jones, President

Stevie Jones has been involved in the marketing, communication, and training development for fiber glass air handling insulation products for over 25 years, first as the Director of Communications for CertainTeed's Industrial Insulation Group, and then later as an active member of NAIMA, and finally as the owner of her own marketing communications business, Gemini Connections. For the past 20 years she has worked closely with the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) and its members providing marketing/communications support for fiber glass insulated duct systems. She has played an integral role in development and rollout of NAIMA's education and training programs that were created to advance the HVAC contractor and technician fabrication skill base for fiber glass duct board systems.

Frederick Rousculp, Program Director

Frederick "Fred" Rousculp began his career teaching math, chemistry and physics at the high school level. He then spent 36 years with Owens Corning, much of which was in the area of mechanical insulation and systems with a focus on duct board fabrication and installation. He conducted over 100 duct board training seminars during his four years as a field sales representative. Even though Fred moved up the ranks to sales and marketing management, he still maintained direct involvement in duct board sales, marketing and fabrication training over the years. He has been a fabricator consultant on a number of projects and has moonlighted on occasion as a duct installer. Most recently, Fred spent four years working on behalf of NAIMA member companies presenting grants to colleges, technical and apprenticeship programs interested in teaching fiber glass duct fabrication and installation.

Tommy Jackson, Instructor

Tommy Jackson graduated from Brewster Vocational School in 1957 with a 4-year degree in sheet metal. He went to work in the union and took another 3 years of courses in the layout of sheet metal. He taught classes at the tech school and became the lead person in a sheet metal shop. He then became a consultant for Owens Corning and for twenty-five years taught new hires and their customers how to lay out ductwork in fiber glass duct board, and wrote manuals for 1" and 5/8" duct board systems. He has worked with many code inspectors across the country to help them understand what to look for when inspecting duct board systems to meet the local building codes. For five years, he was an instructor for NAIMA teaching courses on fiber glass duct board at more than 45 Vo-Tech schools across the U.S.

Pete Hays, Instructor

Pete Hays spent 37 years at Owens Corning where he was a Division Engineer in marketing, managed various laboratories in their Technical Center, and provided technical support for air handling insulation products. He has been involved with fiber glass duct board since 1971 and has worked extensively in the development and testing of duct insulation products and systems. Part of his work with fiber glass duct board and other products led him to participate on many building code committees as well as industry, national and international standards organizations. Pete was instrumental in the development of the NAIMA Train-the-Trainer duct board fabrication program and continues to represent the insulation industry at ASHRAE and ASTM.
